I decided to sign up for Hulu Plus because streaming of its content is available through the PS3 now. I knew a few of the shows I watch are on Hulu and thought it could save me money because I normally buy episodes through iTunes for 99 cents or $1.99. After purchasing a month for $9.99, I quickly found out the selection of movies/TV shows was surprisingly bad. The movie selection reminded me of the kind of movies you’d find in the 5 for $1 section at Walmart and there weren’t many quality TV shows that offered full episodes.
What about commercials? Hulu Plus STILL has commercials! You’d think if you’re paying a subscription fee you’d have a service that’s commercial free. Not so on Hulu Plus. The commercials aren’t long, but for $10/month I don’t think there should be any.
I quickly canceled future billings of Hulu Plus and gave my feedback to Hulu Plus. Hopefully they’re able to make more deals with movie studios and TV networks, so their selection gets better.
Maybe Hulu Plus is for you. Just make sure you view the lineup of movies/TV shows before purchasing.
